Hair can get frizzier with fluctuating weather. Here’s a hair care routine that can help.

As you may have noticed, changing weather conditions is not your hair’s best friend. When it gets humid, frizz happens — especially if your hair lacks moisture. It seeks water from the air, attracting hydrogen bonds that form between hair proteins, resulting in frizzy hair. Follow this hair care routine to keep your hair smooth and manageable regardless of the weather.

1. Condition Your Hair

While all hair types can get frizzy from time to time, dry and damaged hair is especially prone. Daily conditioning using products that address dryness, breakage, and hair fall can help smoothen your strands and infuse your hair with much-needed moisture.

Use a deep conditioning treatment once a week or as often as needed to give your hair a boost. Dove Amino Restore 1 Minute Serum Conditioner addresses persistent and stubborn hair fall. It also contains relaxers that tame frizz, restore dullness, and revive intense damage.

Moisture from the air can cause hair to swell and fluff, creating frizz.

2. Don’t Fluff It with a Towel

Stop fluffing your hair with a towel while you’re drying it. This raises and roughs up your cuticles, leaving space for moisture that can cause hair to swell. Pat your hair dry instead and always in the direction of the hair cuticle. You may also want to switch to a microfiber towel, which is gentler and absorbs water faster.

3. Blow-dry in Sections

Don’t rush through your hair care routine, especially the blow-drying process. Blasting hot air randomly through your hair can make it even more frizzy. Instead, take time sectioning your hair. Start from the back and slowly work your way to the sections on the top of the head. Use a boar bristle brush, which provides just enough tension to keep the hair taut while you dry. It flattens the cuticles and gives you shiny, frizz-free hair.

4. Use an Ionic Brush

Invest in a good quality ionic brush to add smoothness and shine to your hair on the go. These brushes emit negatively charged ions that bond with the hair, restoring its ionic balance. They also help seal the cuticle and even reduce drying time.

5. Sleep on Silk

If you want to go the extra mile with your hair care routine, swap your cotton pillowcases for silk or satin ones. These super smooth fabrics cause less friction with your hair, keeping it smooth while you sleep. Another option is to wrap your hair with a silk scarf at night if you want to wake up to shiny, frizz-free hair.
