Whether it’s training for a marathon, recovering from an illness, striving to reach your ideal weight, or dreaming of living to a hundred, prioritizing your health will bring you a step closer to your goals. If you aim to be a healthy person overall, anything can be attainable because you’ll have the energy, endurance, focus, and motivation to go for it.

Being healthy, according to a 2016 study published in the National Institutes of Health, means experiencing a state of external and internal balance, feeling well, enjoying a sense of harmony, and managing to cope with challenges. Here are simple habits you can practice daily to boost your strength and health.

Get Moving

Take exercise breaks in between meetings to boost your mood and energy.

Working from home has most of us in dire need of some physical activity. The next time you go on a short break, make it count. Take an exercise break instead of going for coffee. The U.S. National Library of Medicine states that making everyday activities more active is an effective way to boost health. Maybe skip the elevator and take the stairs. Put on a fun dance track while doing chores around the house.

When you’re in between tasks, do some stretching to get your blood flowing and prevent back pain. Thirty minutes of exercise a day, five days a week, will do.

After exercising, wash away germs and prevent body odor with Lifebuoy Antibacterial Bar Soap with Multivitamins+ Lemon Fresh. You could also use Lifebuoy Bodywash, available in 450ml and 200ml pumps and refill packs. Both formulations have ActivSilver+, one of nature’s most powerful germ-fighting ingredients.

Snack Healthier

If you’re a big snacker — as in you’re always munching on chips, popcorn, or sweets throughout the day — it’s time to switch it up and make healthier choices. We’re not saying you should give up snacking altogether, just the ones that have trans fats, artificial sweeteners, and other ingredients that can cause diseases. Eat more real fruit and nuts and avoid sodas and other drinks.

Another tip is to chew your food slowly and thoroughly. A study published in the American Journal of Nutrition states that chewing more decreases the risk of obesity. According to their research, people who chew more (around 40 chews per bite) consume 12% fewer calories than people who chew 15 only 15 times per bite. So, just chew it!

Don’t Forget Proper Dental Hygiene

Don’t take your teeth for granted — good teeth hygiene should be an essential part of your daily life. Keeping your mouth, teeth, and gums clean and healthy by brushing your teeth twice a day and gargling with mouthwash in between brushes can help prevent diseases. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends brushing with fluoride toothpaste to protect teeth from plaque and tooth decay, and regular flossing.

Keep Your Hands Clean

Frequent handwashing helps keep you healthy by preventing the spread of diseases and infections.

Handwashing is a crucial part of disease prevention. It can keep you healthy and prevent the spread of infections, which can happen when you prepare food with dirty hands or touch a contaminated surface and then your eyes, nose, or mouth. The CDC states that regular handwashing is one of the best ways to remove germs and avoid getting sick.

Wash your hands with Lifebuoy Antibacterial Hand Wash with Multivitamins+ Total 10 for the CDC-recommended duration of 20 seconds. Don’t forget to scrub between your fingers. The handwash also has vitamins B3, C, and E to boost skin immunity and banish multiple types of germs.

If running water isn’t available, have alcohol or sanitizer handy at all times. Pack one in your office or the car. These are helpful when you need to sanitize and clean your hands and other surfaces.

If you want to become a healthy person, start by washing your hands frequently and thoroughly.
