How the POND’S Microbiome Analyzer Works>

You may have heard of the term “microbiome,” which refers to the host of friendly bacteria in your gut. They aid in metabolism, digestion, nutrient absorption, and immune defense. But did you know that skin is home to microorganisms, too? The skin microbiome is a collection of bacteria, fungi, and viruses that play a huge factor in your skin’s health and appearance. Recent research has revealed that it can also help identify how to best take care of your skin.

What Is Skin Microbiome?

The skin microbiome, an intricate ecosystem unique to every individual, plays an important role in maintaining skin health and produces important nutrients to support our skin’s beauty needs, such as vitamins, antioxidants, and fatty acids.

It responds to external factors such as weather, pollution, UV exposure, cosmetics, stress, sleep, and exercise. Imbalances in the microbiome have been linked to various skin concerns, including dryness, sensitivity, acne, and premature aging. By gaining a deeper understanding of the skin microbiome, individuals can better address their specific skincare needs.

POND’S Skin Institute’s Microbiome Analyzer generates a customized microbiome report and a precise morning and evening skincare routine to address specific skin concerns.

POND’S Skin Institute has debuted a revolutionary Microbiome Analyzer that decodes the complex ecosystem of microorganisms on the skin. Through skin analysis, it delivers insights that empower consumers to make more precise choices for achieving their skin goals.

The state-of-the-art test generates a customized microbiome report that identifies users’ unique skin profiles and recommends a complete morning and evening skincare regimen best suited to their individualized results.

“At the POND’S Skin Institute, we’re constantly innovating to help people achieve their ultimate skin, and we’re thrilled to reveal the Microbiome Analyzer as our latest beauty breakthrough,” said Lucia Liu, R&D Platform Lead for POND’S Skin Institute.

“Invisible to the naked eye, the microbiome holds specific information about how to enhance your skin and guide your skincare routine. Leveraging our unrivaled expertise in microbiome science, this new technology is a game-changer in making that data accessible, comprehensible, and actionable.”

The skin analysis process takes about 60 minutes. The report will include a personalized regimen and product recommendations.

The POND’S Skin Institute Microbiome Analyzer utilizes rapid profiling and innovative data tools to facilitate the identification of users’ microbiome signatures. Consumers will learn about their skincare needs and be recommended a suitable skincare regimen, based on their microbiome characteristics. The process is simple.

  1. Microbiome sampling. An on-site beauty advisor will assist in collecting a microbiome sample. All it takes is a gentle swab of your skin.
  2. Test processing. The beauty advisor processes the sample and completes the analysis within 60 minutes.
  3. Custom skincare consultation. You will receive your microbiome report, including personalized skincare recommendations.

The tool integrates the latest POND'S skincare products, such as the new POND'S Age Miracle Ultimate Youth Night Serum with hexyl-retinol that boosts collagen for reduced wrinkle appearance and plumper skin, and the new POND'S Bright Miracle Ultimate Clarity Day Serum with niasorcinol that repairs skin up to 10 layers deep and fades dark spots.
